Run Flat
As well as being safer when you get a blow-out, Run-Flats mean you don’t have to risk a potentially hazardous wheel change on the hard shoulder. The tyre utilizes self supporting technology which means it is able to support the weight of the vehicle it has been specified for. Effectively, the tyre will function even when the tyre pressure is zero.
Early run-flats earned a reputation for being noisy and uncomfortable, due to the stiff sidewalls but developments in technology have reduced this drastically.
There are around 750,000 run-flats on UK roads, but in tyre terms that’s a tiny proportion – which means only a few companies offer them, including SE Tyres.
